COMSOL Modeling and Applications - COMSOL Multiphysics 4.4 Seminar

For much of the history of engineering, the product development design cycle has relied on trial and error design: build prototypes, test, alter the design, then build more prototypes. The introduction of computer simulation helped reduce the number of steps in the cycle, shortening the time between design concept and finished product. Further refinement of methods allowed for more and more accurate simulations, and now, with efficient computers at hand, engineering simulation has gone mainstream. However, to achieve true virtual prototyping, engineers need to accurately predict the behavior of products in the real world, where often multiple types of coupled physics interact. Thus "multiphysics simulations" have become an integral part of high-tech engineering and R&D worldwide. In this seminar, we will look at multiphysics simulations and COMSOL Multiphysics (www.comsol.com/products), and you will: learn about applications of multiphysics in electrical engineering, learn the fundamental modeling steps needed to simulate your applications, discover the COMSOL software's capabilities, functionality, and features, See how to efficiently set up, modify and adapt and optimize models, get a two-week free trial to use with tutorial examples or to set up your own models

Mia Johansson received her master's degree from the Royal Institute of Technology (KTH), Stockholm, Sweden. She has been working as a sales engineer in COMSOL's Burlington, MA, office since 2003.
